Ruth Mason

Ruthie Nanny Mason passed peacefully in her home on August 22nd surrounded by loved ones. She was remembered by many as the lady who passed out commodities years ago. Ruth was also known and loved as Mason to her bingo and keeno buddies. Nanny's passion was to help anyone in need. Her kitchen was always open to anyone in the neighborhood who was hungry. She loved children and they loved her. She was the happiest when rock'n a baby. Ruth was the daughter of Venous and Mary Anderson Dees. She married William Mason on May 3, 1942 in San Antonio and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1992. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by one brother, Sexton Dees and one nephew, William Loyd Dees. Survivors: Son: Charles Mason; daughter, Charlotte Cheek and husband, Joe. Three grandchildren: Jennifer Leggett and husband, Bubba; Renee Wohleb and husband, Clement; Donna Mason Meyers and husband, Rusty. Five great-granddaughters: Tiffany Williamson; Jessica Williamson; Kate-Lynn Lindeman; Lexi Wohleb; Emma Lee Meyers all of Whitney. One great-grandson: Colton Leggett
