Ruth Ann (Jones) Woodall, age 89 of Whitney, Texas passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Town Hall Estates in Whitney. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Troy Gatlin officiating.
Ruth was born July 18, 1934, in Ft. Worth, Texas, the daughter of Earl G. Jones and Minnie Viola Mitchell. She spent many years in Ft. Worth working in the banking industry and raising her 5 children. Ruth was united in marriage to her devoted husband, Billy Woodall on April 4, 1985, in Grapevine, Texas. In 1996 when it came time to retire, they decided to move to Whitney. Their love of the lake and small-town atmosphere were perfect for them. Ruth, like her grandmother, loved to fish, she would sit there all day long to catch just one. Her other love was animals, she had several throughout her life and was always drawn to those she came in contact with. Ruth loved the Lord with all her heart and taught her children to do the same. She was an active member of the Steiner Baptist Church for years. Her sweet smile and kind heart will be missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Woodall; father, Earl Jones and stepmom Dorothy; mother, Viola Ditter and stepdad Johnny; sisters, Betty Mullins and twin sister Ruby Blakenship; son, Wesley Rogers; daughter, Deanna Dominguez; son-in-law, Jim Rea; and stepson, Donnie Woodall.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Ladonna (Hammer) Rea of Whitney; son, Johnny Rogers of Ft. Worth; son Bobby Hackney and wife Shelli of Ponca City, Oklahoma; adopted daughter, Ann Brown of Cleburne; sister, Louise Wilkerson and husband Jay of Bedford; 6 grandkids, 3 great grandkids, 5 great grand dogs; stepdaughters, Carolyn Childs and husband Bud of Burleson; Jo Hayes and husband Kenneth of Burleson; Jerrie McKennon and husband Phil of Burleson; stepdaughter in law, Brenda Woodall of Sunset, Texas; 8 step grandkids, 15 step great grandkids, 2 step great-great grandkids; and many nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to thank Town Hall Estates of Whitney for all the care and love she received. A heartfelt thank you also goes out to Providence Hospice.
Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice Waco, Texas.
