Sammy Steele

Sammy L. Steele, 76, of Abbott, Passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 am, Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, with a burial to follow at Ridge Park Cemetery, Hillsboro. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Monday, April 29, 2024, at Marshall & Marshall.

He was born in Hill County on March 7, 1948. Sammy grew up and attended school in Aquilla, Texas. He served in the United States Army from 1970-1977 and started his career as a general contractor in 1987. Sammy was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lonye (Harrison) Steele and his wife, Nancy Ruth (Neal) Steele; and a brother, Lanny Steele.

Sammy is survived by his children, Scott and his wife, Rebel, Greg and his wife, Michelle; and his grandchildren, Cami Steele, Carsyn Talamantez, Luke Steele, Grant Steele, and Jackson Steele; and numerous nieces and nephews.
