Samuel David Schronk, 76, of Hillsboro, Texas, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Wesley House Assisted Living in Hillsboro.
Sam was born on March 26, 1949, to Ralph and Odessa Schronk. He was raised in the Bynum area and graduated Salutatorian of Bynum High School in 1968. He then attended East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas. After graduation, he taught in several school districts in Texas, eventually retiring from Aldine ISD in the Houston area. He had a long and distinguished career there.
Sam was also an ordained Baptist minister and had served as a deacon in the past. Baptized in the First Baptist Church of Bynum, he currently was a member of Walnut Street Missionary Baptist Church in Hillsboro. He loved his church and loved his Lord Jesus Christ. Simply put, he was a humble man and a great Christian. He loved his family and regularly checked in on everyone. He will be greatly missed.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Ralph and Odessa Schronk; and a sister-in-law, Sabre Schronk. Survivors include brothers Wendell E. Schronk and wife, Debbie, of San Antonio, and Donald J. Schronk of Bynum; a son, Jonathan Schronk of McKinney; aunts Patsy Cooper of Forney, and Verree Schronk of Bynum; three nieces and one nephew, Wendy Foltz and husband, Trent, of Houston, Chris Schronk and wife, Tammy, of Round Rock, Mindy Hoyle and husband, John, of Abbott, and Mary Joe Schronk of Hillsboro; five beloved great-nephews; several cousins; and his precious cat, Zipper.
The family wants to express its appreciation to Wesley House Assisted Living and Alpha Omega Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Sam. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Walnut Street Missionary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1144, Hillsboro, Texas 76645, or a charity of your choice. A memorial service to honor Sam will be held at a later date at Walnut Street Missionary Baptist Church in Hillsboro.
