Biography

Sandra “Sandy” Williams, 65, of Hillsboro passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Providence Health Care Center in Waco. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Covington with Rev. Eric Black officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2015, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Born July 9, 1949 in Covington, she was the daughter of J. G. “Red” and Laura Marie (Kirksey) Johnson. During her high school years, she was a barrel racer and rodeo queen. Shortly after graduating from Covington High School in 1967, she married Benny Gene Beshear. She later married Donald Ray Williams in 1973. She worked as a respiratory therapist at Boyd Sanitarium and Grant Buie Hospital, both in Hillsboro. Sandy later moved to Austin where she lived and worked for several years, before retiring and moving back to Hillsboro seven years ago. Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Anita Johnson and Glenda Gilley; and a brother, Wayne Johnson.

Survivors include her son, Benny Gene “Bengie” Beshear of Buda; brother, Donald Johnson and wife, Shirley, of Covington; sister, Lynette Morgan and husband, Charles Mitchell, of Whitney; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
