Sheila Collard

Sheila Collard, a cherished wife, mother, and beloved member of the Whitney, Texas community, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026. Born on January 21, 1967, Sheila’s life was one rich with love, family, and the simple joys that defined her spirit.

Raised and nurtured in Red Oak, Sheila grew into a woman whose warmth and kindness left lasting impressions on all who knew her. She married Victor Collard, Sr., on August 4, 1984, beginning a marriage marked by unwavering devotion and deep affection. Known affectionately by many as “She She,” Sheila touched lives not just as a loving wife and mother but also as a friend and confidante.

Sheila found joy and expression in artistic pursuits; she loved painting pictures on canvas, allowing her creativity to flourish in every brushstroke. Her heart resonated with the melodies of old country and rock music, often delighting in singing those timeless songs. She had a particular fondness for angels, immersing herself in books about them and weaving her own thoughts and feelings into poetry. Moments of solace came from fishing excursions and watching inspirational figures such as Joel Osteen and Joyce Myers on television. Among her favorite things were the color yellow and the bright cheer of sunflowers, symbols that mirrored the light she brought to others. Above all, Sheila’s passion was making people happy and sharing joyful experiences with those around her.

Sheila is survived by her devoted husband, Victor Collard, Sr., and their son, Victor Collard, Jr., both from Whitney, Texas. She also leaves behind her brother Stanley Stephens of Alvarado, Texas, sister-in-law Cathy Stanton from Waco, Texas; sister-in-law Ginger Stephens from Mesquite, Texas; brother Ed Stephens and his wife Susan of Irving, Texas; sister-in-law Debbie Norris from Marble Falls, Texas; sister-in-law Kay Lynn Hill and her husband Darin from Long Beach, Mississippi; brother-in-law James Collard, Jr. of Whitney, Texas; and sister, Darla Shelby.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Clarence and Betty Stephens; brother, Dennis Stephens; nephew Christopher Earl Stephens; father-in-law James Collard, Sr.; mother-in-law Wanda Collard; and nephews Rusty Dunn and Dwight Collard.
