Stephen Wedeking Chupik

Stephen Wedeking Chupik, age 81, of Aquilla, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory officiated by Pastor Jerry Davis of West Brethren Church.

Stephen was born May 17, 1943, in Waco, the son of  Bohus and Marie (Wedeking) Chupik. He graduated as a valedictorian from Aquilla High School in 1961. From the time he could walk, Stephen worked in the fields alongside his father and six siblings and after graduation and serving his country in the United States Air Force he returned home to begin his lifelong career as a farmer.

He displayed a lifelong devotion to his profession. He was known for his unwavering integrity, and tireless work ethic. He not only worked for the success of his own farm but worked to help the entire farming community in his area in many ways, including serving as director on the Chatt Water Supply Corporation.

Stephen and his wife Anne were devoted members of the West Brethren church for many years and after his retirement from farming, they pursued their passion for traveling, visiting countries all over the world. They hosted many wonderful holiday celebrations, and their home in Aquilla was a beloved place for children and grandchildren to gather together.

Stephen Wedeking Chupik will be remembered for his keen intelligence, the farming legacy he created in Aquilla, and his unwavering devotion to his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Marie, his brothers, Bohus Chupik Jr. Jimmy and John Chupik and his sisters, Betty Lindeman, Ruth Owen and Carol Pekar and his wife, Anne (Taylor) Chupik.

Stephen is survived by his son, Shawn Chupik, and wife Beverly; grandchildren Holly and Dakota Chupik; nieces, nephews, the children and grandchildren of his late wife, Anne, and other extended family and friends.
