Stephen Wayne Scroggins

Stephen Wayne Scroggins of Waxahachie passed away at the age of 69, on October 1, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Lubbock, Texas on April 26, 1956. 

Steve loved to fish and being outdoors. He aloo loved being at the family reunion held at Lake Whitney every year. He had a kind heart for everyone he met. His passing has left a void in our hearts of his family and friends.

We are saddened by his passing of Steve, but are comforteded knowing that he is now with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Probabaly playing 42 dominoes with his grandpa Sudduth. 

Steve is survived by his mom Barbara Newsom, two beautiful daughters, Jennifer Barr and Amber Scroggins, brother Les Moore and his wife Lesa, his sister Cheryl Armstrong and her husband Dennis, two grandchildren, an done great grandson, an many nieces and nephews. Also survived by his aunt and best friend, Belinda Oblak and her husband John.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney, Texas. There will be a visitation for the family and friends before the service from 1:00-2:00 PM.

The family would like to thank all of the nurses that took such good care of him at the Methodist Midlothian ICU and Harbor House Hospice.
