Teddy Davis

Teddy Ward Davis, better known as "Ted," "PawPaw," and "Dad," passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2024. He was surrounded by his family the days and nights leading to the time when our Lord brought him home to rest.

He is survived by his sisters Anne, and Brenda, son Kelly Davis, Granddaughter Amanda Davis, Grandson Quinton Davis, and Great-Grandchildren Aleah Davis, Bryson Davis, Austyn Davis, and Landon Davis.

Ted Davis, age 83, was born on July 19, 1941, in Savannah Tennessee. After high school, he would go on to serve in the Navy, and eventually retire. While serving, he spent time in Vietnam and achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer.

After Retiring from the military, he and his wife Barbara Davis, raised their son Kelly in Oak Cliff, Texas. He and his wife moved to Hillsboro, Texas in 2005, where he became active in community affairs, as well as assisted in the development of the Hillsboro Athletic Booster Club. His Wife Barbara was laid to rest on October 24, 2015. While in Hillsboro, Ted made countless friends and was beloved across the town. One of his most enjoyable hobbies was the competitive sport of rabbit hunting with his beloved beagle-breed dogs, and he frequently participated in competitive Beagle Field Trial events. When it came down to his favorite music, Merle Haggard was his tune, and no one who knew him would deny it.

In recent years, whether it was his morning routine of meeting friends for coffee and breakfast at a local restaurant, watching his great-grandchildren Aleah and Bryson compete in sports, visiting with his grandson Quinton and his wife Taylor Davis, spending time with their children (his two youngest great-grandchildren) Landon and Austyn Davis, spending time with his Son Kelly and his wife Rebecca Davis, or enjoying a meal with his granddaughter Amanda Davis, he was never short of opportunities to spend time with family and friends.

To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was known as PawPaw, and they loved him dearly and loved spending time with him every chance they got.

Today he is reunited in Heaven with his wife Barbara, his Father Cleatis Davis, his Mother Alice Davis, and many more beloved family and friends.

As one of the many Bible teachings, Ted applied his heart to almost every situation during his life, and always made the right decisions. Regardless of the circumstance.

Ted will be remembered as a selfless person, a Man of Integrity, a Caring Friend, and a loving Father and Grandfather. Ted left a lasting impact on everyone he met. His legacy lives on through his family and friends.
