Terrie Lynn McDonald

Terrie L. McDonald passed away at home in Whitney, Texas, on May 31, 2026, after a long and valiant struggle with cancer. Terrie was born in Dallas, Texas, on March 26, 1959, to Herman and Barbara Wilkerson. In 1973, Terrie’s family moved to Duncanville, Texas, where she graduated from Duncanville High School in 1977.

Terrie was a devout Christian of unwavering belief, whose faith shone through every aspect of her life, including her many battles with cancer. One of her favorite Bible verses was Matthew 28:20 – “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Terrie and her husband Bill were married on June 18, 1983. They remained married for the rest of her life, and she was a loving and wonderful wife. Terrie and Bill had two children, William Christopher (“Chris”) and Kala Michelle.

Terrie and Bill lived in the Houston, Texas area from 1983 until 2021. While raising their children, Terrie was a loving and devoted mother and very active in each of their children’s lives. Among many things, she was a soccer coach, a Girl Scout leader, and provided volunteer work and services at Chris and Kala’s high school. Terrie enjoyed gardening and landscaping and continued to develop her “green thumb” while living in The Woodlands, Texas, for almost 22 years. In July 2021, Terrie and Bill moved to Whitney, Texas, to begin Bill’s transition into retirement and to be closer to their children and to Terrie’s sister, Sherrie Williams, and her family. During their time in Whitney, Terrie made many friends and also enjoyed providing service to the White Bluff Chapel, including making decorations for Vacation Bible School. Terrie also loved and enjoyed the family’s numerous pets over the years.

Terrie courageously fought several significant cancers over her life, beginning in 2007. After successfully beating cancer for the first time, Terrie wanted to travel to Italy. Terrie and Bill traveled through Italy in 2010 and thereafter traveled extensively throughout the United States and the world. During Terrie’s last battle with cancer, her goals were to see the birth of each of her grandchildren. She was truly fortunate to experience the joy of the birth of her granddaughter, Maya Olivia McDonald, on April 12, 2025, and her grandson, Patrick Reid Dolan, on March 30, 2026.

Terrie was known for her contagious laugh and wonderful sense of humor, as well as her strength and courage in her many battles with cancer. We know now that she is no longer suffering and is at peace in the arms of her Savior.

Terrie is survived by her husband, William (“Bill”) C. McDonald; her son William Christopher (“Chris”) McDonald, his wife Nancy and their daughter Maya; her daughter Kala Dolan, her husband Kevin and their son Patrick; her sister Sherrie Williams and her husband Jeff; and several family members and friends. Terrie is predeceased in death by her father and mother, Herman and Barbara Wilkerson, and her sister, Sharon Kay Wilkerson.
