Verna Lee Harris, beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born on November 14, 1938, and lived a life filled with love, faith, generosity, and devotion to those around her.
Verna shared 68 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, Bob Harris. Together they built a life centered on love, loyalty, and unwavering commitment. Their marriage was a beautiful example of partnership and dedication.
She was an avid runner who enjoyed staying active and embracing life with energy and determination. Verna also dedicated many years as a faithful secretary for Valero before retiring. She took pride in her work and the relationships she built throughout the years.
A devoted Christian, Verna lived her faith daily through kindness, compassion, and generosity. She quietly supported numerous nonprofit organizations over the years, always willing to help others in need. Her gentle spirit and caring heart touched many lives.
Verna will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was proceeded in death by her parents George and Ophelia Taylor, brother Joe Taylor, Wilburn Taylor, Weldon Taylor, Johnnie Taylor, Walton Taylor, and Clifton Taylor. Sisters Opal McCowan and Mable Stroud.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Bob Harris; her brother, Roland Taylor of Kerrville; her sister, Gracie Callaway of Whitney; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Though her presence will be greatly missed, her love, faith, and warm spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
