Virgil Songer

We regretfully announce the passing of Virgil H. Songer A.K.A Hotrod, who passed away surrounded by his loved ones on January 21st  2024. Virgil had a difficult battle with his illnesses and is finally at rest. Virgil will be forever loved and forever remembered. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Bethlehem Cemetery in Whitney, Texas.

Everyone who knew Virgil knew he had a heart bigger than Texas. Virgil was as stubborn as a mule but he had a heart of gold and was one of the most selfless men one could ever meet.

Virgil is survived by his daughters, Amy Songer and Sarah Songer; sons,  Dustin Songer, Justin Songer, and David Stracener; brother, Vernon Songer; sisters; Marie Wyan and Vivian Leal; grandchildren, Kinsley Bitner, Cheyanne Stracener, David Stracener, Jedidiah Songer and Derrick Songer; and an abundance of friends.

We will miss Virgil more than words can say.
