William David Greenhill

William David Greenhill, 72, of Peoria, Texas, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in Waco. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, Hillsboro. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, March 6, 2026, at Marshall and Marshall. Burial will follow the funeral service at Peoria Cemetery.

David was born August 30, 1954, to William Donald Greenhill and Carol Jean (Roper) Greenhill at Connally Air Force Base in Waco, Texas. He grew up in Midway, where he discovered a love of sports. David played football and baseball. He joined the Army National Guard at age 19. David was a job change coordinator for Owens Illinios for thirty-two years. An avid outdoorsman, David loved to fish, hunt and read Louis L'Amour novels. He went on hunting trips with family and friends every year. David was a proud member of the small community of Peoria, Texas. He was married to Lynette Greenhill for fourteen years and together they raised two boys. They remained great friends until the end of his life. David was a kind, generous, loving and loyal friend, cousin, uncle, neighbor and father who was always willing to help anyone who was in need.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Nannette Greenhill (the love of his life); parents, William Donald and Caroll Jean; his stepmother, Landa Greenhill; his stepfather, Ervin Hoeldtke; his brothers, James D. Greenhill and Travis W. Greenhill. David is survived by his children, John Douglas Greenhill, Stacey Clark, Joshua Greenhill and wife, Ale, and Jacob Soule; his step-children, Doug Huse and wife, Helena, Michael Mullins and wife, Miranda, and Steely Clark and significant other, Jared Soule.
