Abigail Bason

Abigail “Abby” Bason was born February 22, 1958, in Itasca, Texas to mother, Nellie Lara Bason and father, Sunday Bason, Sr. (who was deceased before her birth).  She went home to her heavenly Father, and to meet her earthly father on January 30, 2023, at the age of 64. Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, February 10, 2023, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, Hillsboro, Texas with Deacon Vernon Markwardt officiating.  Visitation will take place from 12:00 to 1:00pm, Friday, February 10, 2023, at Marshall and Marshall, with burial at Itasca Cemetery.

Abby attended Itasca ISD and graduated in May 1976.  Following graduation, she went to work for our local flower shop.  Abby worked for two hospitals and Alltel telephone company, before taking a job with Hilco Electric in 2001.  She retired from Hilco in 2018.

Abby’s passion in life was making sure her nieces and nephews (from each generation) were well taken care of and happy.  She enjoyed attending family gatherings and planning them.  Abby loved staying in touch with the many friends she made throughout her work career, going out to eat, and planning trips.  She will be dearly missed by all.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Nellie and Sunday Bason, Sr.; her brother, Sunday Bason, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Arturo Cervantes. 

Abby is survived by her brother, Daniel Bason (Susan); her sister, Angelina Bason Cervantes; sister-in-law, Debbie Bason; nephews, Michael Bason (Maranda), John Cervantes (Elizabeth); nieces, Kristi Bason Sargent (Kyle), Shelly Bason Crawford (Curtis), Kelly Bason Tinklenberg (Mike); great nephews, Maverick Bason, Darrion Crawford, Devin Crawford, Ashton Tinklenberg, Jack Bason, Cash Bason, Briggs Bason; great nieces, Rheagan Bason, Chandley Sargent Waddell (Nick),  Aidan Sargent, Michelle Crawford, Dani Tinklenberg; great-great-nephews, Braylon Thomas, Jayden Crawford, Silas Waddell; great-great nieces, Bella Bason and Shiloh Waddell.
