Acela (Rubio) Olvera, age 72, passed away on November 15, 2023 in Hillsboro, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, Texas with a 7:00 p.m. rosary. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 17, 2023 at Our Lady of Mercy in Hillsboro, Texas. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory.
Acela was born on December 6, 1950 in El Puente Municipio de Santa Catarina San Luis Potosi, Mexico to her parents Febronia Perez and Jose Rubio. She was a stay at home mother, working hard to upkeep her home, as well as taking care of her husband and children until they all grew up, and made their own home separately. Acela was a loving grandmother to all of her grandchildren. She was always willing to give a helping hand to those in need. Acela enjoyed spending time with her family and playing Mexican Bingo. She loved cooking and seeing her family come together to enjoy the meals she cooked for them! Acela was a warrior, she fought to keep her kids happy and to see them grow into the adults they are today.
Acela is survived by her loving husband, Alfonso Olvera; 7 children, Evaristo Olvera, Fernando Olvera, Victoria Olvera, Baldomero Olvera, Francisca Olvera, Braulia Olvera, and Victor Alfonso Olvera; 20 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Maria Rubio. Cruz Rubio, Antonia Rubio, Esperanza Rubio, and Ventura Rubio; brothers, Zenon Rubio and Jose Rubio.
