Amanda Melaney (McConathy) Tyree

Amanda Melaney Tyree, 38, of Whitney passed away on February 10, 2020, in Hillsboro.   The family will hold a memorial service at Peoria Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2020, with Pastor Eddie Booth officiating.

Amanda was born in Hillsboro, Texas on October 5, 1981, to Bill and Patricia (Wright) McConathy.  She grew up in Whitney, graduating from Whitney High School in 2000.  After graduation, she obtained her degree in nursing and became an LVN at Hill College in Clifton before working at Town Hall Estates in Hillsboro.  On September 29, 2015, she married Christopher Michael Tyree in Hillsboro.

 She was an avid Peyton Manning football supporter and enjoyed going to the movies.

Amanda loved going out and living life to the fullest, spending time with her family.    She loved Kerby, Sophie, Eternity and her husband, Chris, with an unconditional love.

Preceding her in death were her brother, Craig McConathy; a nephew, Anthony Gray; grandparents, Paul and Elizabeth McConathy; grandfather, Bill Wright and grandfather, V.D. Williford.

Survivors include her husband, Chris Tyree; parents, Bill and Patty McConathy; children, Kerby Holder, Sophie Tyree, Eternity Tyree; brother, David Gray and wife, Melissa; sisters, Kristi Gray and husband, Mike and Kalishia Sanders and husband, Roger; grand-mother Genevieve Allen and Nanny, Mirla Wright; in-laws, Tony and Vicky Williford and David and LuAnn Tyree; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; pet companion – Yorkshire Terrier, Jaxs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a fund established at First Bank and Trust, Whitney Branch, P.O. Box 547, Whitney, TX 76692, make checks payable to Sophie Tyree.
