Benny Garland Shaw

Benny Garland Shaw, 77, of Whitney, passed away on August 22, 2023, in Whitney.  Visitation will be Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.  Burial services will follow at Whitney Memorial Park with Rev. Eddie Booth officiating.

Benny was born October 22, 1945, in Clifton to Bruce William and Margaret Niecey (Cappers) Shaw.  He attended school in Whitney and graduated in 1964.  Benny was married to Anita Vaughan of Hillsboro from 1963 – 1986 and they had two sons, David Shaw and Robert Shaw.  Benny married Linda Duke on August 21, 1987.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Linda on March 5, 2021; four brothers, Donald in 1937, Duel in 2001, C.R. (Rudolph) in 2012, and Jerry Wayne in 2022; two sisters, Imogene Dyer in 2012 and Etheline Dennis in 2015; stepson Eddie Jackson in 2016.

Benny is survived by his sons, David Shaw and his wife Theresa of Bentonville, Arkansas; Robert Shaw and Katie Goff of Arlington; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Willie Mae Worley and Anita Brown of Whitney; and his second marriage added Shanna Crowson and Robert of Arlington, Laura Evans and Chris of Kerrville, Lacie Brown and Dean of Owasso, Oklahoma, Jay Turner and Cherie of Rhome; eleven grandkids and several great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers are Mason Shaw, Ryan Shaw, Jeremy Houchin and Memphis Goff.
