Betty Jane (Perry) Giebler

Betty Jane Giebler passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the Crowley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Crowley, Texas.  Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 8 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, Texas.  The Reverend Michael Nemec will officiate.  Visitation will be Tuesday, March 7 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Betty was born April 10, 1937, to Reverend George E. and Catherine Arndt Perry in Miles, Texas.  In 1954, she married her sweetheart, Vernon Giebler in Brenham, Texas.  With her father being a Lutheran pastor, she was a lifelong Lutheran.  Betty worked as an accountant at Vandervoits Dairy and Fort Worth National Bank.  She really enjoyed her most recent job at Fort Worth County Day School.

Betty rarely met a stranger and loved visiting with her friends.  She had a passion for gaming enjoyed as many trips as she could to the nearest Casinos.  Betty also enjoyed reading, especially reading poolside and watching football. The second love of her life and her pride and joy was her dog, Biscuit.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vernon Giebler, and her daughter Sheri Yale.  Betty is also preceded in death by her brothers, Arvid Perry and Bob Perry.

She is survived by her son, Daryl Giebler and wife Dori of Crowley.  Two grandchildren, Eddie Smith and Barbie Sorgee.  Five great grandchildren, Alyssa Smith, Kendall Slack, Maddie Slack, J.T. Smith and Matthew Smith.  Betty is also survived by one great-great grandchild, Riley Camacho. 

Serving as pallbearers are Terry Giebler, Ricky Lea, Ronnie Kroll, Mike Perry, Alton Perry and Michael Hoblinski.
