Carmen Saldierna

Mary Carmen Saldierna, 60, of Itasca passed away Monday, July 20, 2020, at Providence Health Care Center in Waco.  Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Itasca Cemetery with Father Ouseph Thekkumthala officiating.  Carmen will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro. 

Carmen was born December 13, 1959, in Dallas, Texas to Mike Martinez and Carmen Cadena. She married the love of her life Emiliano Saldierna in November of 1983. Carmen enjoyed cooking, everyone knew if they needed any rice made, she was the best rice maker in town, and she would be more than happy to make some. Carmen loved watching her grandchildren play sports, she was always on the fence yelling at them. She told many stories and always made people laugh. Carmen had adopted more children then she had of her own. She helped people out whenever they asked, she never questioned she just did it. Carmen helped assist many events in the community of Itasca.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Mike Martinez and Carmen Acosta and stepfather, Jesus Acosta.

She is survived by her husband, Emilio Saldierna Sr.; her children Victoria Botello and Emilio Saldierna Jr; and grandchildren, Temperance, Angelina, Anahi, and Alyssa. She is also survived by many siblings, cousins, family and friends.
