Charles William Ray

Charles William Ray of Whitney went home to be with his Lord Jesus on Saturday, June 26, 2021, with family by his side. 

Charles was born March 12, 1953, in Caldwell, TX to his parents Ernest M. Ray and Marie Ray. Charles married Charlotte Vana on August 16th 1973 and they had one son together Lonnie Ray. Charles received his GED and then worked several years as a Carpenter until he became a constable for Hill County in 1989, where he served for 12 years. Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting with son’s and nephews, fishing, building furniture, and painting. 

Charles was proceded in Death by his parents, Ernest and Marie; wife, Charlotte; brothers, Mervin J. Ray and Milton E. Ray; sisters, Leona and Linda Storm; nephew, Scott Strickland. 

Charles is survived by his wife, Suella Stevens; son, Lonnie Ray and wife Spring; step children, Greg Stevens and wife Lisa, Jeff Stevens and wife Natalie, Misty Gregg and husband Jesse, Melanie McBrayer and husband Chris; brother, Jerry Ray and wife Geraldine; sister, Mary Pratt and husband James; grandchildren, Michael, Brayden, Macey, Annalise, Hartlie, Coy, and Kinsley; nephew, Mervin Ray and wife Ivanka; niece, Marie Ray Morton and husband Jimmy; and many more niece and nephews.
