Dana R. Boyd, 77, of Alvarado passed away Friday, March 25, 2022. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory in Hillsboro.
He was born October 4, 1944, in Hillsboro. Dana was preceded in death by the love of his life, Barbara Gail Boyd; son, Kevin Boyd; great-grandson, Adam Roberts; half-sister, Melinda Boyd; mother and stepfather, Olivia and Henry Duncan; and father, JR Boyd.
After graduation, Dana married his high school sweetheart and started his career in sales. Mr. Boyd worked for several mobile home dealerships prior to opening his own dealership in north Fort Worth. After selling his business, he went to work for Lockheed where he built F16 aircrafts. Dana missed sales and started working as an award-winning salesman at several car dealerships until his retirement.
Mr. Boyd had many hobbies that included hunting, fishing, listening to Elvis’s songs, and building modified dirt track cars. He was also an avid collector of old photographs from Hillsboro, Alvarado, and Fort Worth which he liked to share on social media. Dana never missed a Dallas Cowboys or Texas Rangers game on TV or a good NASCAR race. While he enjoyed many hobbies, his true love was family.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son and caretaker, Kenneth Boyd (Stephanie); granddaughters, Ashley Cuttill (Justin), Kayla Arcement (Tyler), and Jessica and Carrie Giovanni; grandsons, Billy Roberts (Shawna), Kelly Boyd (Sharla), and Pops to Emilio Turner; great-grandchildren, Alexus, Jaycie, Bailey, Kellsee, Jayden, Johnny, and Kason; half-brothers, Glenn and David Boyd; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins; and family dog, Mildred.
