Danny Fletcher Obituary

Daniel (Danny) Joe Fletcher, a beloved husband, proud father, doting grandfather, and passionate rancher, passed away on May 17, 2023. Danny's life was defined by love, faith, and unwavering commitment to his family and cherished values. Funeral services will take place at 1:30 pm, Monday, May 22, 2023, at Central Baptist Church, Hillsboro, Texas, with Reverend Darrell Beggs officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Danny was born to Joe H. Fletcher (Jodie) and Iva Lee Daniel Fletcher on April 4, 1946, in Dublin, Texas. He was proud to be a 6th generation Texan! He grew up with his brother, sister, and four boy cousins who played kick the can, football, and every other outdoor game imaginable! When Danny was 16, the family moved to Wolfforth.

Education played a vital role in Danny's life. He loved the Stephenville area and attended Tarleton State University. He returned to Lubbock and graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in animal science. His career path took him from selling veterinary drugs to ranchers in El Paso to working alongside his dad and brother in the building business in the Lubbock area. Later, he dedicated himself to a successful real estate career in Austin, selflessly serving others.

In 2012, Danny married his devoted wife, Pam, and together they shared a love for horses, livestock, and ranching. Their bond brought them immeasurable joy, nurturing a loving partnership built on their faith in the Lord Jesus.

Throughout his life, Danny's unwavering faith and love for his family, livestock, and ranching defined him. He found solace and strength in his devotion to Central Baptist Church in Hillsboro, where his faith guided his actions and shaped his character. His passion for livestock and ranching left an indelible mark on his family and community. He embraced the challenges and rewards that came with caring for animals and nurturing the rural lifestyle he held dear. A proud Texan, Danny held a special place in his heart for Texas Tech University, wholeheartedly supporting its athletic programs and embodying the school's spirit and values. Country music, especially the legendary George Strait, brought Danny comfort and joy, providing the backdrop to his cherished memories. Danny never missed the annual Fletcher Reunion, treasuring the bonds and shared laughter that created lifelong memories for all involved. He was known as a great encourager and good sport by the whole family.

As we honor the life of Daniel Joe Fletcher, his love, faith, and dedication to family, horses, ranching, and community remind us of the values that truly matter. May his legacy inspire us to embrace our passions, nurture relationships, and live with unwavering faith.

Danny leaves behind his children and their spouses, Jerry and Julie, Jay and Katherine, and daughter Jodie, his sister, Martha Atwood, and his brother, Bobby Fletcher, and a whole host of family and friends who will miss him dearly. His adoration extended to his grandchildren, Rebekah, Kegan, Hudson, Marlowe, Lucy, and Charlie, filling his heart with endless happiness. Danny cherished every moment spent with his family, leaving a legacy of love that will endure for generations.

Contributions in memory of Danny can be made to Central Baptist Church in Hillsboro, Texas, or a charity reflecting his passions and values.

Though Danny's physical presence may be gone, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in the arms of Jesus.
