David Franklin Lewis

David Franklin Lewis, 72, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro.

David was born September 17, 1950, in Hillsboro to Mildred Lecille and Etta Mae (Brown) Lewis.  He was raised in the Blum and Hillsboro areas.  In 1984, he began working in the powerline construction business and retired in 2017.

On November 14, 1969, David was united in marriage to Dorris Sessums in Hillsboro.

In his spare time, David enjoyed going hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed watching sports, especially football and NASCAR.  He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

Family was everything to David.  He loved them unconditionally and enjoyed every opportunity he had to spend with them.

He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents and siblings, Parthene Coslett and her husband, Jimmy, Mildred Thompson, and Wanda Elliott and her husband, Spencer.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Dorris Lewis; daughter, Datha Pawlik and husband, Mike, of Austin; brother, Joe Don Lewis of Woodbury; two sisters, Reba Joyce Bryans of Cleburne and Linda Faye Stepp of Hillsboro; and brother-in-law, Elvis Thompson of Blum.
