Debra Lee (Richardson) Smith

Debra Lee Smith, age 62 of Whitney, Texas passed away September 30, 2023, at her residence. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Our Lady of the Lake Anglican Church in Laguna Park with Father Michael Heidt officiating. Lunch will be provided following the service.

Debra was born December 26, 1960, in Dallas, Texas to James and Irene (Hrabal) Richardson. She was a member of the Our Lady of the Lake Anglican Church. Enjoyed thrills: sky-dived, loved roller coasters, wanted to get her Pilot's License. She was known as Lolli to her two grandsons Micah and Maddox (Jay is Pop; hence Lolli-Pop!) Debra loved building things and was handy with tools, liked to paint, wired houses, and enjoyed the outdoors. She also was a great seamstress, made matching clothes for her daughter and her dolls, and would make her own patterns for clothing. Debra was an avid book reader, especially of historic romance. Mixed her own product line of creams and lotions under the name Essential Beauty. Loved sweets, especially all chocolates and chocolate shakes (made with vanilla ice cream- Jay never figured that one out...) Debra was known for her generous heart and a smile as big as Texas and...she would not have wanted any of the attention she is getting right now.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Richardson.

Debra is survived by her husband, James (Jay) Smith of Whitney, Texas; daughter, Melissa Caballero of Rockwall, Texas; grandsons, Micah and Maddox Caballero; and stepchildren, Christin, Courtney, Jay the 4th, and Charles Smith; mother, Irene Barber; and siblings, Mimi Jackson, Nancy Archer, and Don Reeves.
