Donna Ruth Cook

Donna Ruth Cook, age 70,  passed peacefully February 26, 2023. Memorial Services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, April 8, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Whitney, Texas.

Donna was born Donna Ruth Dubois in Tulsa, Oklahoma to parents Lloyd and Ernestine Dubois, who preceded her in death. Donna and her husband retired in Whitney Texas and have resided there for over 20 years. Donna was strong in her Christian faith and an active member of Covenant Baptist Church in Hillsboro Texas, where her husband Jim preaches. Donna was a gentle and artistic soul. She loved to draw and paint. She loved books. Her true passion, however, was music. Donna learned to play piano and guitar at a young age and wrote and recorded several songs. Many who knew her knew of Donna's beautiful singing voice. She would often sing specials at her church, occasionally accompanied by her son, Ecko. 

Donna is preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Ernestine.

She is survived by her husband James Raymond Cook; her children Robert Kilmer, Sarah Albright, Stephen Cook, and Ecko Cook; her grandchildren Aidan Albright, Alexis Albright, Travis Cook, Logan Cook, Barrett Cook, and Wendell Cook; and her brother David Dubois.
