Emma Wade Rich 92, of Whitney passed away on Friday July 22, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11:AM on Wednesday July 27,2022 Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney, officiating will be Mr. Rick Pinner. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday July 26,2022 at the funeral home in Whitney. Interment will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Trinidad Cemetery, Trinidad, Texas.
Emma was born on August 24, 1929 in Trinidad, Texas to Rigsbee Terry and Bera Octavia Wade. She graduated from Trinidad High School where she was Drum Major. She worked as a comptometer operator for Swift-Armor in the Fort Worth Stockyards and later at Foremost Dairies. Emma was one of the first women to own and operate an 18-wheeler. She enjoyed, ceramics, painting and crocheting. Emma was a member of Open Range Cowboy Church.
Preceding her in death was her parents; sisters, Bobbie Mason and Delores "Pustus" Yates; daughters, Sharon Cooper and Joy Crownover; son, Buddie Robert Rich; son-in-law, Allen Laurence.
Survivors include her daughters, Belinda Laurence and Donna Driver and husband, Billy; grandchildren, Jennifer Laurence, Wade Laurence, Nikki Driver, Lori Contreras, Jackson Cooper, Casondra Tidwell; 11 great-grandchildren; life long childhood friend, Ruth Smalling Dickson and Shorty Davis Burton; "extra" daughter, Patricia Prophitt; friend and caregiver, Barbara Raulston and the best service dog ever, Lena.
