Evelyn Charlene (Shaw) Helms

Charlene (Shaw) Helms, 66, of Cleburne, Texas, passed away at a local nursing home June 24, 2022, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Charlene was born August 20, 1955, in Whitney, Texas to Audrey and Evelyn (Burton) Shaw. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1973 and later attended Hill Junior College in Hillsboro, Texas. Charlene was a Pharmacy Technician at Brookshire’s for many years before eventually moving over to Eubank Drug where she worked until she retired due to her illness. She loved old country music and twirling around the dance floor to the classics when the opportunity presented itself. She also enjoyed fishing, shopping, and sewing, but especially baking and quilting. Above all, Charlene loved spending time with her family and being a Nana to her only grandson, Wesley.

She was preceded in death by her father, Audrey Shaw.

Charlene is survived by her daughter, Brandy McRae and fiancée David Turner; mother, Evelyn Shaw; grandson, Wesley Turner; sister, Jan Kline and husband Chris; brother, James Shaw and wife Jan; niece, Sarah Youngblood and husband James: nephew, Jon Shaw and wife Ruthie; nephew, Jeff Shaw and wife Amber; special friends, Linda Freeman and Anita Shaw; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

The memorial visitation will be held at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney on Friday, July 1, 2022, from 5:00pm-8:00pm.
