Georgia Marie (Nelson) Hestilow

Georgia Marie Hestilow, age 90, of Hillsboro passed away Thursday, June 25, 2020, at Town Hall Estates in Whitney. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at Peoria Cemetery in Peoria.

Georgia was born October 24, 1929, in Henderson County, Texas to Joseph L. Nelson and Nora D. (Sessums) Nelson. She grew up in the Peoria Community of Hill County. In her younger days she enjoyed fishing. Georgia was united in marriage on September 11, 1948, to Howard Lane Hestilow and together they raised their children. She was also a member of the Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, H.L. “Buddy“ Hestilow on October 4, 2000; three sons, Ray, Kenneth, and Billy Hestilow; and a daughter, Catherine Bennett.

She is survived by her children, George Hestilow & wife, Mary, William Hestilow, Betty Shivers & husband, Glen, and Helen Groves & husband, Edward; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
