Guadalupe R. “Lupe” Martinez, age 83, of Hillsboro passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro with visitation to follow until 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 23, 2020, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro with Father Ouseph Thekkumthala as celebrant. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery.

Guadalupe was born on November 8, 1937, in Rosebud, Texas to Juan and Refugia (Salazar) Ramirez. She grew up in Rosebud and was united in marriage to Candelario Pena Martinez in 1983 in Casa Grande, Arizona. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2002. She loved to sew and garden. Guadalupe enjoyed taking care of her plants and she was very strong in her faith. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Tomas Ramirez, Julio Ramirez, and Melquiades Ramirez; two sisters, Trinidad Martinez and Beatrice Castilleja; and grandson, Marcos Juaregui.

Guadalupe is survived by her children, Mario Martinez and wife, Frances, and Vikki David and husband, Paul; sisters, Juana Cervantes and Eulalia Rodriguez; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
