Harmena Katreen (Hill) Cook

Harmena Hill “Cookie” Cook was born in Whitney, Texas to John T. and Lena Wylie Hill on May 19, 1931. She passed away on November 6, 2022, at the age of 91. She was seventeen by three days when she married Robert Cook on May 22, 1948, they were married for forty-four years, until his death in 1992. Harmena spent most of her adult life in Waco, Texas. She was a beautician, starting at the downtown Goldstein-Migels, and worked for several other beauty shops before starting her own business, “Cookie’s Style Shop.” After closing her beauty shop, she worked with her husband Bob, running the RAC appliance repair company, Then after his death, she worked for Dickerson Automatic Fire Protection, Inc. until her retirement. In 2017 she moved to Dripping Springs, Texas to be with her son, Robert and his wife,Nancy. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert A. Cook; brothers William Ova Hill, Alvis Hill, Glen Ladell Hill, and Ray Harold Hill; sisters Euna Mae Hill Davidson, Floy Ruth Hill Watson, Lyna Price Hill Watson, and Charlotte “Avon” Hill Barnes.

Harmena is survived by her sister, Barbara Ann Hill Marsh; son Robert Cook Jr, and wife Nancy, son Stephen Cook and his wife Sharon, grandchildren Leia Lee Ann Copeland, Robert Cook III, Micheal Cook, Matthew Cook, Mary Katherine Cook, Benjamin Cook, Heather Webb, Holly Webb, Sarah Cook, and many great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney. A visitation will be held form 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at the funeral home.
