Harold Cobb Obituary

Harold Leon Cobb, 93 of Whitney, passed away early Saturday morning February 29, 2020 in Waco. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Harold was born on May 19, 1926 in Blum, to H.L. Cobb and Ida (Heath) Hyder. On December 16, 1951, he was united in marriage to Jeannine Cupp, she preceded him in death on January 11, 2004. A faithful and dedicated United States Army veteran he served in the combat Infantry during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He retired from active military service in 1966, during his service time he was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Harold and Jeannine lived in many places in the United States and Europe during his military career. After retirement from the service the couple moved back to Whitney. Harold also worked for Brown and Root as a welder for 20, years, retiring in 1990. He also continued to take care of the farm and ranch after getting off work, he especially enjoyed taking care of his cattle.

Preceding him in death were his parents, great-grand-daughter, Charlotte Campbell; 1 brother and 3 sisters.

Survivors include his children, Jim Cobb and wife, Sue, Mike Cobb and wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Marcie Allen and husband Russell, Jamie Simmons and husband, Clay, Samantha Cobb, Blake Cobb and Katharine Campbell and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Ty Allen, Cooper Simmons, Emma Simmons, Eliza Campbell, Landon Campbell, Ethan Cobb and Aiden Cobb.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Country Club Retirement Center in Whitney for their wonderful care and devotion, love and friendship and Providence Hospice Place.
