Harvey O'Neal Wilson

Harvey O. Wilson, age 82 of Itasca , passed away in Hillsboro on September 15, 2019.Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Salem-Irene Cemetery, Irene, Texas. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 6 to 8 pm at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Harvey was born August 7, 1937 in Frost, Texas to Auda and Nonie (Cook) Wilson.He attended Milford High School and graduated in 1955. Harvey was united in marriage to Barbara Finch on September 1, 1956 in Milford. After that he worked for Dallas Power and Light Co. in Dallas for 2 years. Harvey then attended Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth and earned his B.S. Degree in 1962 and later also attended ETSU in Commerce, TX in 1968. He earned his administrative certification in 1970 and began teaching in Italy, TX in 1962: Principal at Keller Elementary and Junior High School in 1968. He was the high school principal at Van Alstyne in 1972, Superintendent at ERA ISD in 1979, Superintendent director and principal at Hillsboro ISD in 1981 and Superintendent at Itasca ISD in 1985. Harvey retired from education in 1996.

He was preceded in death by Auda Wilson (Father) in May 1981, Nonie Catherine (Cook) Wilson (Mother) in Nov. 1995, and Monica WIlson (Daughter) on Aug. 10, 2015.

Survivors include wife, Barbara Ann (Finch) Wilson of Itasca; children, Richard Wilson and wife Melissa of Itasca; sister, Vida Kay Long of Clinton, Mississippi; 5 grandchildren, Alecia Gilchrist and husband Mike of Guam, Sarah Macon and husband Will of Ft.Worth, Clint Wilson of Clifton, Bryant Wilson of Grandview, and Jacey Wilson of Itasca; and 3 great-grandchildren, Tucker and Carli Gilchrist of Guam and Fisher Macon of Ft.Worth.
