Isabel O. (Olivarez) Rodriguez

Isabel O. Rodriguez, 88, of Whitney passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, at Willow Park Nursing Home in Clifton.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2023, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Pastor Greg Johnson officiating.  A burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park in Whitney.  Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the funeral home.

Isabel was born March 10, 1935, in Sabinal, Texas, to Antonio and Eloisa (Munoz) Olivarez.  She grew up in Sabinal, lived in Uvalde for a time, and moved to Whitney in 1999.  On November 17, 1953, she was united in marriage to Pedro Flores Rodriguez in Michigan.  Pedro preceded her in death on March 3, 2010. She was of the Catholic faith and also attended First Church of The Nazarene, where she was very active.  In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, listening to music, and dancing.The matriarch of her family, Isabel always wanted her family to be together.  She loved her family and grandchildren unconditionally.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; five sisters; seven brothers; and three children, Reyes Alcorta, Linda Rodriguez, and Pedro Rodriguez, II.

Survivors include her children, Felipe Rodriguez and wife, Mary, Alicia Rodriguez, Julian Rodriguez, Rosa Guzman and husband, John, Connie Tenorio and husband, Joe, Pedro O. Rodriguez, Jr., and Lupe Munoz and husband, Johnny; honorary daughter, Norma Rodriguez; 24 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and honorary friend, Maria Montes.

Pallbearers honoring Isabel will be: Alicia Hernandez, Lupe Munoz, Linda Leija, Mary Lara, Crystal Lerma, Jessica Hernandez, Michelle Cliatt, and Norma Hernandez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Emily Munoz and Tamara Mendoza.
