Jaime Monterrubio

Jaime Monterrubio, age 79, passed away surrounded by his family, November 10, 2023, at his home in Hillsboro, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, Texas. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro, Texas. A burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery. 

Jaime was born March 5, 1944, in Chiconamel Veracruz Mexico, to Ausencio and Mary Lara Monterrubio.  He was the oldest son of ten children. Jaime married Victoria Fuentes Monterrubio on October 21, 1967, a union that lasted fifty-six years. 

Jaime came to the United States and resided in Houston for two years before settling in Hillsboro in 1974.  He and Victoria raised four children together.  A member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro, Jaime was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He loved spending time outdoors working on various projects around his property and tending to his animals.  Jaime loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ausencio and Mary Lara Monterrubio; two sons, Jaime Monterrubio, Jr. and Martimiano Monterrubio; and his sister, Celia Morales.  Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Victoria; daughter, Reyna Monterrubio; son Ausencio (Keko) Monterrubio; adopted daughter, Febe Evangelio; grandchildren, Vicky Monterrubio, James Prebosnyak, Jessica Monterrubio, Jacob Prebosnyak; great grandchildren, Jaden Monterrubio, Kinsley Monterrubio, Julian Langford-Monterrubio; sisters, Hortensia, Lesbia, Raquel, Elva Rosa, Melinda, and Elizabeth; brothers, Saul, and Jose Juan; multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, compadres, comadres and friends.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Enhabit Home Health, Texas Oncology, Providence Hospice, Community Healthcare of Texas, Doctor Jeremiah Seely, and all his family and friends who loved him and have helped the family though this difficult time.
