James Michael Martin

James Michael Martin, age 71 of Morgan, Texas, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022, at his residence. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, November 28, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Rev. Ken Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Cedron Creek Cemetery in Bosque County. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 pm Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral home in Whitney.

Michael was born February 28, 1951, in Houston, Texas to James Carrol and Janette (Fowler) Martin Miller. He was the owner/operator of Martins Cabinet shop for 40+ years. He was united in marriage to Patricia Lawson on May 19, 1967, in Waurika. Oklahoma.

Michael was one of a kind he never met a stranger, he would talk to anyone telling stories of all types. Michael really enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, always looking forward to hunting season every year. The things he liked to do outdoors the most were taking care of his cattle and working in the yard. Michael also loved riding his Harley Motorcycle, and riding horses.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Billy Weldon and Roger Dale Martin; and sister, Kim Gross.

Michael is survived by his wife, Patricia Martin; children, Jamie Roden and husband Rodney and Kim Walker and husband Joey; brothers Gary Weldon and wife Shirley and Roger Weldon; sisters, Darlene Wren and Carrol Redman and husband Robert; five grandchildren, Chance Singleton, Nick Singleton and wife Lara, Sydney Walker, Robert Roden and Tripp Walker; and great grandson, Tucker Singleton.
