Judy Gale (Patton) Thomason

Judy Gale Thomason, age 75 of West passed away Monday, May 3, 2021. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the Church on the Hill in Hillsboro with Rev. Jim Patton officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2021, at the funeral home.

Judy was born August 5, 1945 in Hillsboro, Texas to Lonnie and Ruth (Porter) Patton. She grew up and attended Hillsboro schools. Judy was united in marriage to Dana Thomason on June 22, 1984 in Lake Worth,Texas. Judy worked in retail as a beauty supply sales person and a seamstress at Maloofs Manufacturing, before going into Law Enforcement. She began her law enforcement career with the Hillsboro Police Department as a dispatcher in 1979 and eventually becoming the records manager. In 1991 she went to work for Rockwall County Sheriff’s office until her retirement in 2014. Judy was a very talented singer, enjoyed making arts and crafts and had her own jewelry company.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Ronnie Patton; and sister, Cathy Featherston.

Judy is survived by her husband, Dana Thomason of West; children, Robbie Davis and wife Serena of Whitney and Deana Davis of Hillsboro; brother, Billy Patton and wife Stacey; sisters, Darlene Burgamy of Hillsboro and Patricia Ward and husband Darrell of Cleburne; grandchildren, Casey Davis, Corey Vaughn, Zack Davis, Aaron Davis, Tyler Barr, and Travis Barr; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
