Lenford Jones

Lenford Jones, age 88 of Hewitt passed away peacefully Friday, December 25, 2020 in Waco. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory in Hillsboro with Bro. Roy Marshall officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2020 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro. Face masks and social distancing are required.

Lenford was born April 2, 1932 in Montreal, Missouri the son of Wilbur and Etoile (Franklin) Jones. He was united in marriage to his first wife, Kerns Ann in January of 1954 and she preceded him in death in 1992. Then later he was united in marriage to his second wife, Donna for 26 years. Lenford joined the United States  Air Force and served 23 years as a Tech Sargent. He was stationed in Guam and fought in the Vietnam and Korean wars. When he retired from the military, he went to work in the civil service at the VA hospital in Waco.

Lenford loved ranching and taking care of his cattle and working outdoors. He was a very strong and hardworking man. He was family oriented and always there for anyone who needed a helping hand.

Preceding him in death were his father, Wilbur; mother, Etoile; first wife, Kerns Ann; brother, Dale; grandson, John and granddaughter, Lyla.

Lenford is survived by his wife, Donna of Hewitt; daughter, Sherry Southerland, Annetta Dean and husband, Jimmy; son, David and wife, Shelly all of Hillsboro; 4 stepchildren, Rob, Brian, Chad and Jenn all of Hewitt; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
