Linda Sue Worley, 80 passed away peacefully Monday, July 13, 2021. A graveside service under the direction of Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors of Whitney will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Bethlehem Cemetery near Whitney. A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm- 4:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. The service will be lived streamed via Marshall and Marshall Face book page.
Ms. Linda lived in South Carolina with her daughter and son-in-law Darla and William D. “Doug” Gordon Jr. Her body was flown back home to Whitney to be laid to rest beside her husband R. L. “Bob” Worley.
She was born May 2, 1941 in Hillsboro to Charles E. Alewine and Estelle Terry. Linda loved to cook, sew, garden and give life “Heck” her way every chance she got. She lived life to its fullest. She loved music and would occasionally play her guitar. Linda worked in a local café to put herself through cosmetology school where she became a beautician by trade. Loved and known by many, her shop was the place to be. Linda also love helping her husband with a farm they had in the Peoria area, last but not least Linda loved her chickens, she called them “my ladies” and spent many an hour with them.
Survivors include her children, Darla Gordon and husband, Doug; son, Steven D. Worley and fiancé, Missy Morgan; grandchildren, Brandon Gordon and wife, Stephanie, Erick Gordon, and Kaiden G. Worley; brother, Thomas “Tommy” Glenn Alewine; 2, great-grandchildren, several step- siblings and cousins.
