Luis Angel Chavez

Luis Angel Chavez, Jr. of Whitney passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021.  Luis was born October 3, 1988, in Dallas, Texas to Luis Angel Chavez, Sr. and Phillis Markwardt. 

He grew up in Hill County and attended school in Bynum.  After graduating in 2007, Luis worked several years in pipe lining.  Working out and spending time with family and friends were things he enjoyed, and he loved spending time with his daughter and being the life of the party.

Luis was preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Cox and grandfather, Stanley Jones.  He is survived by his fiancé, Tamara Mendoza; daughter, Isabel Lu Chavez; mother, Phillis Markwardt and husband, Alan; father, Luis Chavez Sr. and wife, Angelica; brothers, Robert Jones and wife, Keri, Rudy Chavez and wife, Veronica, and Scott Markwardt and wife, Randi; sisters, Tiffany Kelley and husband, Cody, Cielo Chavez, and Linda Chavez.

Graveside service will take place Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 10:00 am, at Vaughan Cemetery with a visitation on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Texas.
