Marilyn Pick Obituary

Marilyn Linda Pick, 75, peacefully went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family, on Friday, October 23, 2020.   Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Rev. Lilly Ettinger officiating.   Burial will follow at Prairie Grove “Greenie” Cemetery near Aquilla.   A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on October 27, 2020, at the funeral home.

Marilyn was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts on June 20, 1945 to Earl Jay and Florence Richie Lang Christian.   She was a veteran of the United States Air Force as well as being actively involved in the Aquilla Fire Dept, the City Council and the School Board and served as mayor of Aquilla.  She was also a member of the United Church in West, Texas.

A devoted mother, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She worked as a CSM, a cashier and at the service desk at Wal-Mart.  A hard worker, she was trying to get well so she could go back to work because she loved the people.  If you ever went through her line, you would know about her whole family.     In her spare time she loved to play the piano.

Marilyn especially loved Christmas with the whole family getting together at the community center every year.   She would make her own Chinese Christmas for everyone.   She especially loved baking and everyone wanted her sugar cookies.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Earl Jay and Florence Ritchie Christian.

Survivors include her children, Cheryl (Jeffrey) William of Kopperl, TX, Michael (Burgandy) Pick of Lytle, TX, and Scott (Roni) Pick of Aquilla; 9 grandchildren, Corey Pick, Ashley McWilliams, Lindsey Hall, Austin Pick, Harlee Pick, Tara Pick, Mackayla Wallace, Matthew Dotter and Micka Dotter; 6 great-grandchildren, Madelyn Pick, Samantha Pick, Macy Pick, Allee Wallace, Waverlee Hall and Stella Pick; a brother, Ronald Christian of North Waymouth, Massachusetts.

Memorials may be made to the Aquilla Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 203, Aquilla, TX  76622 or First United Church, West, TX.
