Mary E. (Lewis) Nelson

Mary E. Nelson, 99, of Peoria, Texas, passed away surrounded by family on June 15, 2022, in Hillsboro, Texas. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, with Eddie Booth of the Peoria Baptist Church officiating, with visitation preceding the service from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the Marshall and Marshall Chapel.

Mary was born January 9, 1923, in Hill County, Texas to Henry T. Lewis and Una Washer Lewis. On her birthday in 1951, she married Odell Nelson in Hill County, Texas. They had two children, Ronald and Donna.

Mary was a homemaker until her children left home and then spent several years as an Avon representative and enjoyed visiting with all her customers and fellow Avon agents.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, one sister, many nieces and nephews and her beloved husband of forty-nine years, Odell in 2000.

Mary is survived by her son Ronald and his wife Susan of Waco, Texas; her daughter, Donna and her husband, Charles Conner of Peoria, Texas; her grandchildren, Shelly (Roy) Spinks of Waco, Scott (Carolina) Nelson of Austin, Jason Conner of San Antonio, and Ethan (Chloe) Conner of Cleburne; seven great-grandchildren, Cohen, Emersyn, Brecklyn, Knox and Scout Conner, Caroline, and Wyatt Spinks; many nieces, nephews and friends.
