Michael Marion Birdwell

April 19, 1941 -May 17, 2021

 Michael Birdwell, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 17, 2021. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p. m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will follow at Whitney Memorial Park.

Mike was born on April 19, 1941, in Hillsboro TX to Hodie Marion Birdwell and Alma Mae (Whittington) Birdwell. He married Sarah Birdwell on September 21, 1978, in Dallas, Texas. She preceded him in death on December 21, 2014.

Mike was a Battalion Chief for the Carrollton Fire Department and retired in 1993. After his retirement, he spent many wonderful years with his beloved wife, his family, and many friends. He enjoyed working in the yard and attending his grandchildren's events.

 He was a member of Lake Whitney Baptist Church.

 Survivors include his daughters; Deborah Lodrigue of China Spring, Lisa Whitsell of Carrollton, D'Ann Legg and husband Dane of Belton. Brother Tom Birdwell and his wife Judy of Kingsland. Grandchildren; Holly, Heidi, Ashley, Chandler, Ty, Hunter, Brock, Aspen. Great-grandchildren Averv. Leah, and Grayson. Special friend Eddie Shelton. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends.
