Ollie Ross (Arnold) Wiley

Ollie Ross Wiley (née Arnold) (1937 - 2021) passed away peacefully on June 19, 2021, at 4:30 p.m. Central Daylight Time, at her residence. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with Rev. Danny Gilliam officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Ollie was born on January 22, 1937, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She was the youngest daughter of Albert Wells Arnold and Audrey Fisher Arnold. Ollie went to school in Arkadelphia Independent School District. Upon graduation, she attended Henderson State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in education. She married Jimmy Dale Wiley on May 25, 1964. Five years and three months later, Jim and Ollie adopted their son, Richard Arnold Wiley. Ollie was a teacher for many years. She was a wife, mother, sister, friend, and amazing woman who contributed toward her community in word and deed, such as in her time with the Meals on Wheels volunteer group or the Monday Review Club. She was very skilled with her gardening and baking. She also had sewn a few beautiful dresses and was known to work effortlessly through crossword puzzles in her younger days.

Ollie is survived by her husband, Jimmy D. Wiley; son, Richard A. Wiley; sister, Cora Watson; nieces, Claudia Gilkerson and Linda Williams; daughter-in-law, Tochia Anikwe; and other family and friends.
