R. T. Edwards

R.T. Edwards, age 82, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020 at his residence. Funeral services will be held  2:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2020 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Rev. Jay Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Peoria Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13th at the funeral home.

R.T. was born on March 7, 1937 in Ennis, Texas to George Alma and Willie Mae (Key) Edwards. He grew up in Ennis, Hillsboro, Springtown and Mexia, before making Dallas his home. While living in Dallas he met his across the street neighbor, Patricia Prince, who quickly became the love of his life. They have been happily married for 65 years.

He has had a 65 year career in floor covering, owning and operating his own business. 

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Pat Edwards; children, Robert Edwards and wife, Jan, Brenda Suttons and husband, Gary, James Edwards and wife, CeeAnn, Cyndie Basham and husband Jarvis, Greg Edwards and wife, Tina; sister, Ruth Owens of Weatherford and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
