Rita Diane (Michael) Linsley

Some people only walk this earth for a short time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us. Rita Diane Linsley rejoined her heavenly family and gained her wings this week.

Rita Diane Linsley of Whitney, age 71, passed away on September 15, 2022, after battling a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home in Whitney, Texas. Burial will follow at Bethlehem cemetery in Whitney, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Monday, September 19, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home in Whitney, Texas.

Rita was born on February 2, 1951 in Tipton, Oklahoma, to her loving parents Weldon Franklin and Wanda Jean (Flowers) Michael. Rita’s greatest love was her family, and all her children were proud to call her momma. She was a caring wife, mother and friend.  Rita loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family; listening to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren tell her stories; fishing and traveling to visit friend and family.  She was loved and will be truly missed. 

Rita is survived by the love of her life, her husband Jerry Clay Linsley, her four children, fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
