Obituary

Robert Lloyd Burns was born February 5, 1961, in Bay City, Texas and went to be with our Lord and Savior on September 20, 2021, in Hillsboro, Texas.  A Memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021, 2:00pm at The Cowboy Church, Hubbard, TX.

 

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Cynthia Ann (Lucko) Burns; second mother, Lucille Burns; sons, Robert (Robbie) Lloyd Burns II and his wife Tiphany and Raymond Lee Burns and his wife Trisha; brothers; Wade E. Burns and wife Gina, Jerry L. Burns and wife Mylinda; sisters; Vickie Louise (Burns) Knox, Margie Ann (Little) Taylor and husband Jeff, and Charlotte Joan (Little) Banks; sons; Allen Neal and wife Jamie, Daniel Neal, William Dean; sister Hunny Couch and husband Brian; grandchildren, Kiley Burns, Natalie, Shane, and Wyatt Burns, Caitlyn, Bailey, Amanda, TJ, Quentin, Zackery, Wyatt, and Brandon.  Also, to cherish his memory are his uncles, aunts, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.

 

He is preceded in death by his Father, Robert Eugene Burns and his mother, Rita Mae (Southers) Stansberry; brothers, Kenneth Dale Burns and Michael Todd Ward; son, Jason (Miller) Burns; nephew, Randal Erik Burns; grandparents, Waymon C. Southers, Ruby (Allen) Southers, Ozell (Tidwell) Hillhouse, Grady Burns, and Helen Gentry.

 

He served in the United States Navy from April 2, 1979, to May 30, 1980. Robert graduated from Gilmer High School in Gilmer, Texas in 1983. He worked for Gibson drilling Company in Kilgore, Texas, and at several restaurants as a short-order cook until he moved to Dallas, Texas. He owned Affordable Garage Doors from 1993 to 1996, Garage Door Etc. from 1996 to 2011 and Burn's and Sons Garage Doors from 2011 to 2013.  He was employed by Frazier & Frazier, Inc. from December 2013 to February 2016.  He was self-employed from 2016 to 2018.  He worked with Sunt Construction 2018 - 2021 on the Hubbard By-Pass and his final employment was with Wanzek Industries from February 2021 to September 2021.
