Rodney Dean Banik, 39, of Bynum, Texas, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at his residence. Funeral services will take place Monday, May 8, 2023, at 10:00 am at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Robert Hopson officiating. Visitation will take place Sunday, May 7, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, at the funeral home.
Rodney was born July 23, 1983, to Ronald and Theresa Banik at Grant Buie Hospital in Hillsboro, TX. He attended schools in Bynum and Abbott. Growing up, he enjoyed riding horses, motorcycles, and four wheelers and going hunting and fishing. During his teen years, Rodney worked at West Auction Barn and helped several local farmers. Later in life, he worked as a prison guard, hauled salt water, and pumped oil wells in the oil fields. Rodney also drove an 18-wheeler hauling freight, dry van, and flat bed; and loaded and delivered corn silage to various dairies. He married Sandra Leigh Janes and they had four children. What Rodney loved most in life was taking his children camping, boating, and tubing.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Theresa Romano.
Survivors include his father, Ronald Bank; sister, Susan Brisco and husband, Cole; his four children, Rodney Dean Banik, Jr., Walter Alan Banik, Levi Andrew Banik, and Loren Abbigal Banik; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
