Rondal McDaniel Obituary

Rondal McDaniel, 92, of Hillsboro passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at his residence.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2021, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Mr. Stephen Girsh officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Grove (Greenie) Cemetery near Aquilla.  Mr. McDaniel will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 10, at the funeral home.  Facial masks and social distancing are required.

Rondal was born October 15, 1928 in Cox City, OK to Robert and Virgie (Barnett) McDaniel.  Ron served as a fireman in the United States Air Force for 7 years, traveling to Okinawa and Germany. On October 5, 1957, Ron was united in marriage to Gladys Hartis.

For many years, he was a truck driver.  Once he retired, Ron stayed very busy.  He walked 3 miles a day and at the age of 84, he shingled his own house.  He enjoyed gardening and had a garden every year.  He also enjoyed doing woodwork.

Ron loved movies, especially science fiction and John Wayne movies, and old country music, especially George Jones and Merle Haggard.  He was not a fan of the new country music. He also loved cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys.

Preceding him in death by his son, Kenneth Robert McDaniel; mother-in-law, Zue Hartis; parents, Robert and Virgie McDaniel; sister, Yvela Trusty; brother-in-law, Eugene Trusty; brother, Kenneth McDaniel; nephews, John Trusty, Gene McDaniel, and Ronnie McDaniel; aunt, Virgie Glenn; and cousin, Febe Glenn , Jerry Glenn, Geraldene Wooldridge, Earlene Craig and Wayne Kimbro.

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Gladys McDaniel; daughters, Linda (Rick) Luttrull and Rhonda McDaniel; son, Joe Don McDaniel; 8 grandchildren, Mark (Sheila) Barr, Jamie (Lisa) Moore, Don (Jennifer) Moore, Michael (Melissa) Moore, Barry Moore, Dustin Riley, Michael (Nicole) McDaniel, and Jenny (Brent) Davis; 18 great-grandchildren, Nicholas (Logan) Barr-Shearin, Nathan (Jennifer) Barr, Blake Moore, Kyle Moore, Ethan (Josie) Moore, Orion Moore, John Fisher McDaniel, Forrest McDaniel, Jaxon Davis, Seth Moore, Cameron Rodriquez, Gavin Moore, Sophia Davis, Mckinley Davis, Isla Rose McDaniel, Alyssa Stolte, Brenlee Moore, Maddie Blackwell; 2 great-great grandchildren, Jonathan Stolte and Mia Stolte; daughter-in-law, Cory Martin; nieces, Kathy (Ray) Riley and Diane (Jay) Fulton; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews and cousin, including, Amy (Todd) Pass, Camille Fulton, Clarissa (Ethan) Walton, Rylie Pass, Morgan Pass, Jordan Riley, Trevor Riley, Gregory Walton, Pam Miller, Chunky Novak, Roger (Cindy) Glenn, Virgil Ledbetter, and Felicia Frank.
