Ruth "Ann" (Southard) Ridlehuber

Ruth ‘Ann’ Ridlehuber, 81, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023, in Dallas. Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, Texas, with burial to follow at the New Woodbury Cemetery, Woodbury, Texas. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Thursday.

She was born August 8, 1942, in Corsicana to Roy and Mearl Southard. Ann grew up in Navarro County and moved to Dallas in the 60’s where she worked for Bank of America for 50 years in the Stocks and Bonds department. While working at Bank of America she made many lifelong friends including MaryAnn Ridlehuber, who introduced her to her future husband, Harold. Ann and Harold married on April 14, 1979. 

Ann and Harold spent their weekends together on their farm with their grandchildren. They enjoyed working in their garden, fishing, harvesting honey and working cattle.

A devoted and loving wife, Ann retired early to care for her husband after he was diagnosed with cancer. They traveled through Texas and Louisiana, deep sea fishing, playing cards, and camping at the lake until his passing in 2007. Together they built a lifetime of memories and happiness which she continued to carry with her.

She was a devoted Grammie to her grandchildren, Taylor and Madison, who she loved and cherished every moment they spent together. She passed down her love of nature, animals, and the outdoors to them, and her memory will forever live in their hearts.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Harold Ridlehuber, son, Hal Ridlehuber, daughter-in-law, Shannon Ridlehuber, sister, Deniese Nicholson, and her beloved pug, Sam. 

She is survived by her grandchildren, Taylor and Madison Ridlehuber, and great-grandson, Hayes.
