Samuel Ybarra

Samuel Ybarra, age 38, of Hillsboro passed away Monday, January 11, 2021, in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro. He will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at the funeral home. Facial masks and social distancing are required.

Samuel was born on May 31, 1982, in Milford, Texas to Angelita Ybarra. He grew up in Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 2001. Samuel loved to watch wrestling and enjoyed playing with his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Christi Ybarra; grandfather, Juan Ybarra; aunt, Juanita Ybarra; great-niece, Lilith Nelson; and aunt, Elena Sanchez.

Samuel is survived by his mother, Angelita Ybarra; nieces, Samantha Ybarra, Angelita Ybarra, Margarita Ybarra, and Rachelle Trejo; nephews, Matthew Valdez and George T. Valdez; sisters, Cynthia Ybarra, Rebecca Schmidt and husband, Donald, Patricia Ybarra, and Penelope Ybarra; aunt, Vickie Reyna; uncles, Ramon Ybarra and wife, Annie, Johnny Ybarra, Domingo Ybarra, and Chayo Sanchez; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
